Engraving

In this engraving technique, the artist uses different printing techniques. An image is drawn on a rigid surface, called a matrix. This matrix leaves an imprint that will later house ink and will be transferred by pressure to another surface such as paper or cloth, which allows for several reproductions of the prints. There are different techniques for working with metal plates: etching, aquatint, burin engraving, drypoint and lithography.
